Does MantaRay include free VPN servers?
No. MantaRay is a VPN client. You bring your own server configuration — either a subscription URL from a provider you trust or a server you administer yourself. We do not run, sell, or resell any VPN servers.
Why is the connection slow / unstable?
Throughput and latency depend almost entirely on the server you configure: its location, hardware, the chosen protocol, and the provider's network. Try another server in the subscription, a closer region, or a different protocol (VLESS-REALITY and Hysteria2 usually behave best on lossy networks).
Where are server profiles stored?
Server profiles live exclusively on your device, in the operating system's secure storage: Keychain on iOS / macOS, EncryptedFile on Android, DPAPI on Windows, and a permission-restricted SQLite database on OpenWrt. They are never transmitted to Mantatech Ltd.
Why does MantaRay ask for the "VPN" permission?
Because the app is a VPN client, the operating system requires explicit consent before it can route your traffic through a tunnel interface. We use the platform-native NetworkExtension API on Apple devices and the standard VpnService on Android.
Can I sync my settings across devices?
On Apple devices, yes — subscription URLs and the active profile sync via iCloud's NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore if iCloud Drive is enabled for MantaRay. The data is end-to-end encrypted by Apple and never reaches our servers. On other platforms you can use the LAN handoff feature to copy a subscription between devices on the same Wi-Fi.
How do I delete the app and all data?
Uninstall MantaRayvia the standard OS flow, then remove the VPN profile (Settings → General → VPN & Device Management on iOS, equivalent screens on Android / Windows / macOS). See the account deletion page for the full step-by-step.
I think I found a security issue. Where do I report it?
Email security@mantatech.ltd with a description and a proof of concept. See the security policy for response times and PGP keys.
How do I send a bug report?
Email support@mantatech.ltd with: app version, OS version, device model, the active protocol, and the steps to reproduce. If the app is crashing, allow the in-app crash reporter to send a sanitised report — it lets us symbolicate the trace immediately.
