Account & data deletion

There are no accounts. Removing the app removes the data.

MantaRay does not require registration and does not store user accounts or user data on Mantatech Ltd servers. Server profiles, subscriptions and connection statistics live exclusively on your device. Removing the app and the VPN profile from each device deletes all of it.

At a glance

What gets deleted, and where

  • On your device: server profiles, subscription URLs, app preferences, connection statistics, the random device UUID.
  • In iCloud: the subscription list and the active-profile pointer (Apple devices only, optional).
  • On our servers: nothing account-shaped exists. We never receive your servers or traffic.
  • Email threads: we keep support correspondence to be able to reproduce issues. You can ask us to erase a thread.

Per-platform uninstall steps

Pick the device you used the app on. After the steps below, nothing related to MantaRay will remain on that device.

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

  1. 1Touch and hold the MantaRay icon on the Home Screen, then tap Remove App → Delete App.
  2. 2Open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → VPN. If a MantaRay configuration is listed, tap (i) and Delete VPN.
  3. 3Optional: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → MantaRay → toggle off and choose Delete from My iPhone.

macOS

  1. 1Drag MantaRay from /Applications to the Trash, or use the in-app Uninstall option from the menu bar.
  2. 2Open System Settings → Network and remove the MantaRay VPN configuration if it remains.
  3. 3Optional: in Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → MantaRay, switch sync off.

Android & Android TV

  1. 1Touch and hold the MantaRay icon → App info → Uninstall.
  2. 2Open Settings → Network & internet → VPN → MantaRay → Forget VPN if it persists.
  3. 3Optional: Settings → Apps → MantaRay → Storage & cache → Clear storage to wipe data before uninstalling.

Windows

  1. 1Settings → Apps → Installed apps → MantaRay → Uninstall.
  2. 2Open Settings → Network & internet → VPN and remove any MantaRay profile that remains.

OpenWrt router (mantarayd)

  1. 1SSH into the router and run: opkg remove mantarayd
  2. 2Remove the configuration directory: rm -rf /etc/mantarayd
  3. 3Reboot the router to drop any active firewall and routing rules.

iCloud sync

How to wipe iCloud-synced subscription data

Apple devices may sync your subscription URLs and the active-profile pointer through iCloud Key-Value Store. The data is end-to-end encrypted by Apple — Mantatech never sees it.

  1. 1Open Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud, find MantaRay and toggle it off, then choose Delete from My iPhone / iPad / Mac when prompted.
  2. 2Repeat the previous step on each Apple device signed in with the same Apple ID.
  3. 3If you have already uninstalled MantaRay but the entry still appears under "Apps Using iCloud", removing it from iCloud completes the cleanup.

Email correspondence

Asking us to erase support threads

If you have written to support@mantatech.ltd or another mailbox, we keep that thread to reproduce issues. You can request its deletion at any time.

Send an email from the same address that wrote the original thread to privacy@mantatech.ltd with the subject "Erase my support thread".

We will confirm receipt within two business days and erase the thread within 30 days, in line with the Privacy Policy.

Backups & sandbox

One last sweep

  • If you maintain device backups (iCloud Backup, Google One, Time Machine), data may persist there until the next backup cycle. Restoring an old backup will reintroduce the app sandbox; reset the device or delete the backup if a clean state is required.
  • On Android, "Clear storage" before uninstalling guarantees the EncryptedFile vault is wiped immediately rather than left as orphaned bytes for the OS to reclaim.
