VPN client. Not a VPN service.

Modern VPN client for everywhere you live online

MantaRay is a cross-platform VPN client built on MantaRay-Core, our Rust implementation of VLESS, REALITY, Hysteria2 and friends. Bring your own server. We never see your traffic.

Bring your own server

Mantatech does not run VPN servers, sell subscriptions or proxy your traffic. You configure servers; the app routes through them.

Use it everywhere

One app across every screen and your router

Build the same routing rules once and roll them out to every device you own — including the gateway.

One client, every platform

iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows, Android, Android TV — plus OpenWrt routers via the mantarayd companion daemon. One Flutter UI, one MantaRay-Core engine.

Manage your OpenWrt router from the app

Install mantarayd on a router, pair over mDNS with TLS pinning, and run the same VPN UI for the whole network. Multiple routers, tap to switch, auto failover.

iCloud sync on Apple devices

Subscriptions and the active profile sync across every Apple device on the same Apple ID via NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore. End-to-end encrypted by Apple. We never see them.

LAN airdrop for subscriptions

Pass a subscription between two MantaRay installs over Wi-Fi using mDNS, no internet required. Phone to desktop, desktop to TV — works in both directions.

Beat the censorship

Modern transports, smart fallbacks

Modern protocols and an aggressive fallback chain so the app keeps working when networks try to break it.

REALITY, XTLS-Vision, Hysteria2 out of the box

All modern unblockable protocols are built into MantaRay-Core. Add a server URL or a subscription and you are routed in seconds.

Smart routing presets

Three built-in presets — VPN for blocked sites only, VPN for everything except Russia, and full tunnel — plus per-process presets on Windows.

Subscription prefetch through the active tunnel

Subscriptions refresh every six hours in the background through the live VPN outbound, so a fresh server list is ready even when the subscription domain is blocked.

Four-stage DPI bypass for subscriptions

Direct fetch, SNI spoofing, reserve mirror domain, and finally fetch over the active VPN — with TOFU SPKI pinning to defeat MITM along the way.

Stay in control

Surgical routing, no ad tech

Routing is exposed where it should be — at the per-app, per-device, and per-process level — without a tracking SDK in sight.

Per-app routing on Android

Pick which apps go through the tunnel and which stay direct. Lists are persisted with persist-then-rollback semantics so failures never desync state.

Per-MAC bypass on the router

Take any LAN device — Apple TV, console, smart TV, IoT camera — out of the tunnel from the app, without SSH-ing into the router.

Native QR scanner for every protocol

Camera or photo library: vless, vmess, trojan, ss, hy2, raw subscription URLs. ML Kit / Vision on Apple and Android, zxing fallback elsewhere.

Triple right-shift on Windows

Press right Shift three times — the window pops over everything; press again — it tucks back into the tray. No tray-icon hunting.

Trust

Standard crypto, no SDK menagerie

MantaRay is intentionally boring on the security side. Industry-standard primitives, conservative defaults, no analytics, no advertising.

Standard cryptography only

TLS 1.3, AES-256-GCM, ChaCha20-Poly1305, X25519, SHA-256. No proprietary algorithms. The MantaRay-Core engine is built on rustls and RustCrypto.

No ads. No analytics. No accounts.

No tracking SDKs. No advertising SDKs. No mandatory FCM. No registration. The app is a tool — it does not phone home.

Configurations stay on your device

Profiles live in the OS keystore — Keychain, EncryptedFile, DPAPI, hardened SQLite on OpenWrt. Mantatech servers never receive your servers.

Heads-up

MantaRay does not provide VPN access on its own

You bring server credentials from a provider you trust, or you run your own. The app does not include free servers, paid tunnels, or any built-in VPN service. That is by design.
